Frac Pump Discharge Cover/Suction Cover

Frac Pump Discharge Cover and Frac Pump Suction Cover are key components to ensure the efficient operation of the pump body. They are located on both sides of the inlet and outlet of the pump body, respectively, and play an important role in sealing, guiding, and protecting internal components. ​

Frac Pump Discharge Cover is connected to the discharge pipeline of the fracturing pump and directly bears the impact of high-pressure fluid. Its design must meet extremely high pressure resistance performance. It is usually forged with high-strength alloy steel and precision-processed to ensure the flatness of the sealing surface. It is used with special seals (such as O-rings or metal sealing rings) to prevent leakage of high-pressure fluid. In addition, the discharge cover is often equipped with a flow guide structure to optimize the flow direction of the fluid, reduce turbulent loss, and improve the discharge efficiency of the pump body.

The ​Frac Pump Suction Cover is connected to the suction pipeline, and its main function is to guide the low-pressure fluid to enter the pump chamber smoothly. Compared with the discharge cover, the suction cover is subject to lower pressure, but has strict requirements on sealing and fluidity. Its internal flow channel design must avoid excessive local resistance to prevent cavitation. It usually adopts a streamlined structure to reduce fluid energy loss. In terms of material, the suction end cover is mostly made of corrosion-resistant alloy to adapt to the fracturing fluid environment containing sand and chemical additives and extend the service life. ​

Both are rigidly connected to the pump body through bolts. Accurate alignment must be ensured during assembly to avoid deformation due to uneven force. During maintenance, the sealing performance inspection and wear assessment of the end cover are the key points. Timely replacement of aging seals or repair of worn surfaces can effectively reduce the risk of pump failure and ensure the continuous and stable progress of fracturing operations.
